A candle is the only clock that you can't check.
I started pouring candles in a shared kitchen because I wanted my evenings back from my phone. The phone tells you the time. A candle just tells you it's passing — and somehow that's kinder.
The first batch was six jars of amber and a lot of failed wicks. I'd light one at dinner and realize, an hour later, that nobody had looked at a screen. That was the product, right there, before it had a name.
So melt is a candle app that tries to stay out of the way. Pick a scent, pick a ritual, light the thing. The flame is the interface. Everything else can wait.

How does melt track a burn?+
You log the candle when you light it, and the app starts a burn timer with the scent's rated hours. Blow it out, and the log records the session.
Does it work without the app?+
Yes. The candle is the candle. The app is just a nicer clock, a scent library, and a journal — skip it whenever you like.
Is it just for candles?+
No. The rituals and room matching work for incense, wax melts, and even a plain lamp with a good bulb.
Is it free?+
Yes — the scent library, burn timer, and core rituals are free during beta and stay free after launch.
Do you sell candles?+
Not yet. We map other people's candles. Our own jars come later, on the roadmap.
Can I share a ritual?+
Yes — save a ritual and share it with anyone. The community library is open.
